| Our Mission: To provide a streamlined service making the purchase of local, farm raised and homemade products a convenient and affordable option for today's busy families. From things that come straight from our local farms who use the same standards as we believe is right for our own families. We focus on finding a variety of sources for our items and most all from Wayne and surrounding counties. We plan to also provide the opportunity to buy organic and bulk organic products that are from other farmers across the country. Our goal is to give you, our members, the best information possible about how and where your foods are coming from and significantly shorten the time from when foods are picked to when they are on your table. All the while supporting our local economy and helping farmers who use repsonsible practices be able to continue to do so. We want you to choose which items you want to feed your family and purchase them from these farms. We just want to make it affordable and convenient and will deliver your ordered items to you! |
R & C Farms Co-op is more than just a business venture. It is taking a stand and making a difference. There are many, many reasons why buying and eating food grown and raised locally and with good practices should be a priority in all of our lives. It is more fresh. It tastes better. You are supporting local people right in your community and out lying communities. But a big reason is, you are also not buying from corperate farming which supplies to grocery store chains. We are helping to eliminate GM(genetically modifiied) foods and the big companies that own them just by buying and supporting our local farmers, who do things right. Together we can help the farmers keep farming and all the while we get to enjoy the healthiest, most flavorful foods available. To learn more visit here. If you haven't seen Food Inc. I highly recommend you take a little time to do so. You may have heard about it but it is more than just scaring you out of eating certain foods but it is an education on farming and the reality of the way it is going and what it is doing to the small farmers right outside our own back doors. As our members we want you to know what we mean when we say NO GMO and why. We say we want organic but but until we make a change in what we are actually purchasing it just makes it that much harder for those, who want to grow food right, to stay afloat.
